The Kiesel Group is a medium-sized group of companies with headquarters in Baienfurt in southern Germany . Kiesel is a dealer of construction , handling and used machines , partner of Hitachi , Bell Equipment , Tobroco-Giant in Germany and Fuchs in 17 countries in Europe. Kiesel is also represented in Austria, Switzerland and Poland. Kiesel employs around 950 people at 38 branches in Germany (around 1000 people in 41 branches across Europe).

On October 26, 1958, Helmut and Christa Kiesel founded a Fuchs service station in a former agricultural property in Weingarten in southern Germany : machines were repaired and spare parts were sold. A little later, used Fuchs excavators were sold before various construction machinery manufacturers began selling new machines. In 1970 the company moved to its current 15,000 m² site in Baienfurt near Ravensburg. After the sons Toni, Rainer and Jochen Kiesel joined the company in the 1980s, the company expanded by opening up new markets. The number of employees rose to around 100.

In 1991 Kiesel expanded into the new federal states with a branch in Landsberg near Halle. The Dresden branch was opened around three years later . In 1996 Kiesel took over the representation of Fuchs machines in Norway , one year later in Sweden . In 2002 Kiesel Austria GmbH and Kiesel Nord GmbH in Hamburg were founded in Austria . In 2003 Hitachi transferred the distribution rights for southern Germany to Kiesel. The following year, 2004, Kiesel exhibited for the first time with its own stand at Bauma and further expanded its Hitachi sales area. In 2005, with a technology center in Stockstadt am Rhein, the technology and service area was established as a separate business area. In the same year Kiesel West was founded with a branch in Cologne-Hürth . Kiesel also took over the Munich construction machinery dealer Häfele.

In 2006, Kiesel became Hitachi's general sales partner for all of Germany and acquired the Preissler company with locations in Hildesheim , Osnabrück , Bielefeld and Braunschweig . In 2007, Kiesel moved into the new service center in Baienfurt . In Northern Germany, Kiesel acquired Koops Baumaschinen from Hamburg . In the same year Kiesel founded Kiesel Finance GmbH & Co. KG together with LBBW ( Südleasing ); two new regional subsidiaries are founded: Kiesel Südost for Bavaria and Kiesel Mitte for the greater Hesse region. In 2008, after 50 years of cooperation, Kiesel became the general importer for Fuchs material handling machines in Germany. Kiesel had 24 own locations in Germany as well as 20 sales and cooperation partners, 9 European sales companies and employed around 550 people.

In 2009 Kiesel took over sales from Fuchs for Slovakia and the Czech Republic . In the same year, the traditional construction machinery dealer Ungeheuer in the southwest with locations in Karlsruhe , Mannheim and Freiburg was taken over. At the end of the year, Kiesel took over the third largest construction machinery dealer in northern Germany: the Berobau company with 9 locations ( Aurich , Lingen (Ems) , Osnabrück , Hanover , Bielefeld , Magdeburg , Bremen , Hamburg , Braunschweig ) and around 150 employees, growing to a total of 30 of their own Locations. In 2010 the Kiesel Technologie- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft (K-TEG) ​​was founded.

In 2011, K-TEG received its first patent and Kiesel Abbruch- und Recyclingtechnik (K-ART) was founded. Kiesel received the exclusive distribution rights for eight further countries in Southeast Europe from Fuchs . In 2012 Kiesel took over the Franconian- based construction machinery dealer Reif with four locations ( Ansbach , Schwandorf , Hirschfeld , Himmelkron ). In the Kiesel Ost area, the Potsdam branch was added with the takeover of Bausetra's construction machinery business. Kiesel thus had 34 locations in Germany. In the same year, the sales of Mecalac (brands Mecalac and Ahlmann ) as well as Terex dumpers and dump trucks for Germany were awarded exclusively to the Kiesel group of companies. In 2014, Kiesel became the general sales partner of Hitachi in Austria and the used machinery division operates as a wholly owned subsidiary under the name "Kiesel Worldwide Machinery". In 2016, Kiesel presented itself under the motto "The road to success" at the bauma in Munich. In November, the company's founder, Helmut Kiesel, who still works for the company on a daily basis, celebrates his 85th birthday.

Kiesel has six regional companies and a network of 38 branches in Germany. These are managed in an entrepreneurial manner by the parent company in Baienfurt near Ravensburg . Personal details

Around 500 of the total of around 1000 employees (as of December 2017) work in service and in the workshop, around 110 employees work in spare parts and accessories sales. Around ten percent of the employees are trainees, especially for mechanics for agricultural and construction machinery . In addition, there are training courses in the commercial sector and dual studies . The Kiesel Academy was founded for training and further education. In 2013 and 2018 Kiesel GmbH was awarded the "Top Job" seal as a top employer.
