Kimberly J. Brown

Kimberly Jean Brown (born November 16, 1984 in Gaithersburg , Maryland ) is an American actress .

Career

Kimberly Jean Brown began acting at the age of five. Among other things, she worked in commercials. She first appeared on a Broadway show when she was seven . At the age of nine, she was already on three Broadway shows, making history: Adoring the Sun , Les Misérables and Show Boat .

At the age of eleven she was nominated for the Daytime Emmy Award for her portrayal of Marah Lewis in Springfield Story , where she played the daughter of the famous soap couple Robert Newman (Josh) and Kim Zimmer (Reva).

Due to the rising popularity, the young Broadway career and several nominations for her role on GL, she appeared (among other things) in People Magazine . Brown won the Young Artist Award (YAA) for best actress in a drama and was nominated for best leading actress at the YoungStar Awards (YSA).

She made several appearances with the Olsen twins on their TV sitcom A Twin Seldom Comes Alone and made numerous commercials with Bill Cosby and Olympic gold medalist Bonnie Blair . She had other guest appearances in the television series To Worse and Forever , A Touch of Heaven and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit .

Brown voiced many of General Mills' animated commercials. She also gave a voice to an ant in Disney's animated film The Big Crawling , the animated character “Miyu” in Vampire Miyu and “Lena” in The Little Polar Bear .

Brown was best known for the Disney Channel films Halloweentown , Halloweentown II and Halloweentown III: Halloweentown Highschool , in which she played Marnie, a teenage witch who discovered she had magical powers, alongside Debbie Reynolds .

The New York Times wrote about Brown's coming-of-age role in the indie film Tumbleweeds , in which she starred alongside Janet McTeer : "... The child performance of the year". Numerous critics saw Brown on the shortlist for the Oscar and the Golden Globe as a nominee, later she won the Independent Feature Project (IFP) Independent Spirit Award for Best Debut Performance. Brown also received the Hollywood Women's Press Golden Apple Award for “Young Discovery of the Year” with Haley Joel Osment . Brown also became the National Theater Associations' "Star of Tomorrow" (ShoEast).

Brown also starred in Stephen King 's mini-series House of Doom as "Annie Wheaton," an autistic and gifted telekineticist. In My Sister's Keeper , she played "Christine", a 16-year-old manic-depressive girl, on the side of Lynn Redgrave , Kathy Bates and Elizabeth Perkins . For this she was nominated for the Young Artist Award in 2003 for best young supporting actress.

Brown played Steve Martin's daughter Sarah in the feature film Haus über Kopf , and other roles included Queen Latifah and Eugene Levy .

In 2005, she starred in the comedy Be Cool - Everyone's Hunting for the Next Biggest Hit . In 2006 she took on the role of Samantha (Sam) Marche in the horror flick Big Bad Wolf with Richard Tyson and Clint Howard .

She last made the film Friendship! , which appeared in Germany in 2010 and was seen in several episodes of the television series Low Winter Sun in 2013.
