Kramnik is a village in northeastern Poland in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , on the eastern edge of the Rominter Heath . It belongs to the municipality (Gmina) Dubeninki (Dubeningken).
Before 1945 the village did not belong to East Prussia, but was just across the border on Polish territory.
Until 1945 the population consisted of Poles, (predominantly) Polish-speaking Germans, and Masuria . At that time Kramnik had around 20 farms. Kramnik was partially destroyed during the Second World War . The fleeing German population burned some of their farms themselves. The number of remaining Germans remained very small.
From 1975 to 1988 Kramnik was part of the Suwałki Voivodeship .
