Lars Kristian Huselius (born November 10, 1978 in Österhaninge ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player who has played 686 games for the Florida Panthers , Calgary Flames and Columbus Blue Jackets in the National Hockey League on the left winger position during his playing career has denied. In addition, Huselius completed another 237 games in the Swedish Elitserien , where he was with Färjestad BK twice in 1997 and 1998 Swedish champions and at the end of the 2000/01 season received the Guldhjälmen .
Career
The 1.85 m tall winger began his career at Färjestad BK in the Swedish Elitserien and moved to Frölunda HC in 1999 . In the 1997 NHL Entry Draft , the left-handed shooter was finally selected as 47th in the second round by the Florida Panthers .
For the Panthers Huselius was on the ice for the first time in the 2001/02 season in the NHL, due to his good performance in his rookie season he was elected to the NHL All-Rookie Team in the same year . On December 2, 2005, the Swede was transferred to the Calgary Flames. In the 2006/07 season Huselius was able to score in 15 consecutive games , which was the second longest series of its kind in the entire season. The following season , the attacker scored his first NHL hat trick in the game against the Tampa Bay Lightning . In the summer of 2008 Huselius signed a contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets .
During the lockout of the 2004/05 NHL season , Huselius played again for Linköpings HC. On February 9, 2005, he and his two national team- mates Henrik Tallinder and Andreas Lilja were accused by a 22-year-old woman of raping them, which resulted in all three players being suspended from their clubs and banned from their national team for a year were. However, in June of the same year, the case was dismissed for lack of evidence. Huselius spent the rest of the season at the Swiss first division club Rapperswil-Jona Lakers .
After he was only able to play two games in the 2011/12 season due to injury, he returned to Sweden and joined the AIK IF . After five missions, however, he decided in January 2013 to end his career due to persistent hip problems.
International
With the Swedish national ice hockey team Kristian Huselius won the bronze medal at the 2001 and 2002 World Championships , and he also competed in the 2000 World Cup and the 1998 and 1999 U20 World Championships . In a total of 25 Senior World Cup games, the left wing scored eleven goals and ten assists .
