Kroisbach is a small-scale settlement and at the same time a locality of the municipality of Nussdorf am Haunsberg in the north of the federal state of Salzburg in the district of Salzburg-Umgebung . There are two geologically significant natural monuments in the locality.
geography
The village of Kroisbach is 408 m above sea level. A. , has an area of 0.55 km² and extends from the Oichtenbach in the north, which here forms the municipal boundary to Göming , to about three quarters of the height of the Haunsberg ridge. The settlement areas include the Rotte Kroisbach itself, consisting of 13 buildings with 53 residents (as of 2001) (from the main town of Nußdorf 2.8 km south-southwest at 408 m above sea level at the foot of the Haunsberg) and the northwest of it, near the Oichten located local situation ( scattered houses ) Pointlau, the desert Haarbruck and a part of the village Schlößl in the southwest of Kroisbach .

The hillside of the Haunsberg in the southeastern part of the local area is forested, as is the immediate vicinity of the Oichtenbach in the north. The remaining part of the village, apart from the built-up area, consists of agriculturally used areas that are classified in the lower range in terms of economic yield ( soil creditworthiness ).
In addition to the border-forming Oichten, there is also the Kroisbach , which gave the place its name, in the village area, the Schlößlbach in the west and a piece of the Olchingerbach in the northeast, all of which flow into the Oichten.
history
The place is named after the Kroisbach (from Haunsberg to Oichten ), whose name is in Middle High German krebez (e), krebz (e) , cancer ', or a subsidiary form kriuz, cross (e) .
Infrastructure and traffic
Kroisbach is located on Salzburger Landesstraße 204 Nußdorfer Landesstraße from Weitwörth to Berndorf bei Salzburg and can be reached on this by post bus. About halfway up the Haunsberg there is a non-public forest road that begins in Schlößl and leads to Nussdorf.
There is a facility in the village that offers hippotherapy , among other things .
Attractions
The Mariahilf street chapel is located on the state road at Rotte Kroisbach . It bears the year 1866 and was built by immigrant residents from the Lungau as a thank you for the successful move. The altar shows a picture of Mariahilf and St. Barbara and St. George on the wings . The chapel was last restored around 1990.
In the Kroisbachgraben there are two geotopes where geologically valuable rock outcrops exist and fossils from the Tertiary can be seen. Some places have been designated as natural monuments since 1973 ( Kroisbach Graben and Frauengrube NDM 00119 and 00257 ). Furthermore, halfway up the Haunsberg there is a geological nature trail that starts in the village of Schlössl.
