Kuala Balai

Kuala Balai ( Malay Mukim Kuala Balai ) is a Mukim or administrative district of the Daerah Belait of Brunei . The Mukim is named after the village of the same name, Kampong Kuala Balai .

Kuala Balai is located in the far west of the Belait district and borders to the west with the state of Sarawak of Malaysia . In contrast to the Mukim on the coast, the administrative district is only sparsely populated. The only major road leads south from Kuala Belait into the densely forested area to the village of Kuala Balai. To the north the Mukim Seria and Kuala Belait border, to the east and south the Mukim is surrounded by the Mukim Labi .

The administrative district is located in the hinterland of Brunei, where dense rainforest predominates. Significant rivers in the district are Sungai Pejari (also: Sungai Melinok?), Sungai Mendaram and Sungai Semburu .
