Kuschkow village church

Kuschkow ( Lower Sorbian Kuškow ) is a place in the municipality of Märkische Heide in the Dahme-Spreewald district . The village is about 110 kilometers southeast of Berlin on the edge of the Spreewald biosphere reserve and has about 400 inhabitants. The area of ​​the district is 13.97 square kilometers.

The first documentary mention comes from the year 1328 as Kuzekow . The first settlements existed much earlier, for example urn discs around 3,000 years old were found. There are also finds from AD 600. The village church of Kuschkow from the 19th century, which may have been built according to plans by Karl Friedrich Schinkel , is worth seeing .

Kuschkow was incorporated into the municipality of Märkische Heide on October 26, 2003.

The musicians Christian Lillinger and Robert Lillinger grew up in Kuschkow.
