history
Gröditsch is one of the oldest parts of the municipality. First mentioned in Codex diplomaticus Anhaltinus No. 93 in the year 1004. Almost 200 years ago the village was considered to be a square village based on the type of settlement .
After the Second World War there was a strong increase in population in Gröditsch. The reason was refugees from the eastern German regions who found a new home in Gröditsch. In October 1954 the chapel in Gröditsch, built at the request of the predominantly Catholic expellees, was ceremoniously inaugurated.
Since 1970, Gröditsch primary school has been teaching pupils from 1st to 6th grade. The only school in the community of Märkische Heide is located in Gröditsch.
After the Congress of Vienna , Gröditsch came to the Kingdom of Prussia . On July 25, 1952, the community was assigned to the newly formed Lübben district in the Cottbus district . After reunification , Gröditsch was in the Lübben district in Brandenburg, where she joined the Märkische Heide office on November 2, 1992 . After the district reform in Brandenburg on December 6, 1993 , the community finally came to the newly formed district of Dahme-Spreewald. On October 26, 2003, the Märkische Heide office was dissolved and Gröditsch became part of the newly formed community of Märkische Heide.
The local mayor in Gröditsch is currently (August 2017) Jürgen Nowigk.
