history

House in Bückchen

Bückchen was first mentioned in documents in 1517 as "Bückichen". The place name is derived from the Sorbian "buk" for red beech . In 1522 the place was called "Buck". The Sorbian place name was mentioned in 1800 as "Bukowka".

In 1840 there were 17 residential buildings in Bückchen, in which 134 people lived. The village was part of the state rule Groß Leuthen and was part of the church of Wittmannsdorf. On the road to Gross Leuthen Bückchen then had a Vorwerk . By 1864 the population of Bückchen increased to 171. A windmill and two extensive farmsteads belonged to the place .

Bückchen belonged to the Krummspreeischen Kreis until 1815 , after the Congress of Vienna the Kingdom of Saxony had to cede Bückchen to the Kingdom of Prussia . The Krummspreeische Kreis was converted into the district of Lübben . After the Second World War , the community was initially in the Soviet occupation zone and then in the GDR . During the district reform carried out in the GDR on July 25, 1952, the municipality of Bückchen was incorporated into the Lübben district in the Cottbus district, where Bückchen was united with Wittmannsdorf on September 1, 1973 to form the new municipality of Wittmannsdorf-Bückchen . After the reunification , the Lübben district was renamed the Lübben district and finally dissolved, the Wittmannsdorf-Bückchen community was assigned to the Dahme-Spreewald district and joined the Märkische Heide office . On October 26, 2003, this office was dissolved and the municipalities of the office were united to form the new, non-official municipality of Märkische Heide . Bückchen has been part of Märkische Heide since then.
