Laguna Beach is a census-designated place (CDP) in Bay County in the US state of Florida with 3932 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Laguna Beach is about 15 km west of Panama City and 180 km west of Tallahassee on the Gulf Coast of Florida. US Highway 98 ( SR 30A ) and Florida State Road 30 run through the CDP .
history
Laguna Beach was named in 1935 after the famous city of Laguna Beach , which is located in California. Joseph Broderick Lahan, a businessman from Birmingham, Alabama , is believed to be the founder.
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 3932 inhabitants were distributed over 4607 households, most of which are holiday homes used as second homes. The population density was 595.8 inh / km². 91.8% of the population identified themselves as whites , 1.1% as African American , 1.2% as Indians and 0.8% as Asian Americans . 2.4% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.7% to several ethnic groups. 5.8% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 31.3% of all households lived in 22.2% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 56.3% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.17 people and the average family size was 2.66 people.
17.9% of the population were younger than 20 years, 23.8% were 20 to 39 years old, 31.0% were 40 to 59 years old, and 27.3% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 46 years. 50.6% of the population were male and 49.4% were female.
The median annual income was $ 51,111, with 12.1% of the population living below the poverty line.
In 2000, English was the first language of 97.03% of the population and Spanish was spoken by 2.97%.
