Lynn Haven borders Panama City to the south and is around 140 km west of Tallahassee .
history
In 1927, Lynn Haven was recognized as a city. In 1928 the first town hall was built.
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 18,493 inhabitants were distributed over 8,266 households. The population density was 876.4 inh / km². 83.2% of the population identified themselves as whites, 10.0% as African American , 0.6% as Indians and 2.4% as Asian Americans . 0.9% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.9% to several ethnic groups. 4.1% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 35.3% of all households and persons aged at least 65 years in 23.2% of all households. 68.8% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.45 people and the average family size was 2.95 people.
33.7% of the population were younger than 20 years, 25.6% were 20 to 39 years old, 28.7% were 40 to 59 years old, and 18.1% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 38 years. 47.4% of the population were male and 52.6% were female.
The median annual income was $ 57,122, with 9.0% of the population living below the poverty line.
In 2000, English was the first language of 96.09% of the population, 2.46% spoke Spanish and 1.45% had another mother tongue.

Lynn haven is crossed by Florida State Roads 77 and 390 . The Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport is located around 25 km north-west of the city.

The crime rate in 2010 was 253 points (US average: 266 points) in the average range. There was one rape, nine robberies, 48 assaults, 67 break-ins, 512 thefts, 13 car thefts and one arson.
