Upper Grand Lagoon is a census-designated place (CDP) in Bay County in the US state of Florida with 13,963 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Upper Grand Lagoon borders directly on the cities of Panama City and Panama City Beach and is located about 170 km west of Tallahassee . The CDP is crossed by US Highway 98 ( SR 30A ) and Florida State Road 30 .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 13,963 inhabitants were distributed over 8,259 households. The population density was 664.9 inh / km². 91.2% of the population identified themselves as whites, 2.3% as African-Americans , 0.5% as Indians, and 1.6% as Asian Americans . 1.1% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 3.4% to several ethnic groups. 4.6% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 27.5% of all households and persons aged at least 65 were living in 24.7% of all households. 62.5% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.32 people and the average family size was 2.81 people.

22.3% of the population were younger than 20 years, 26.1% were 20 to 39 years old, 30.8% were 40 to 59 years old, and 20.6% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 41 years. 50.5% of the population were male and 49.5% were female.

The median annual income was $ 57,615, with 7.2% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 95.75% of the population, 2.87% spoke Spanish and 1.38% had another mother tongue.
