Panama City Beach is a city in Bay County in the US state of Florida with 12,018 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Panama City Beach is located on the Gulf of Mexico , around 5 km west of Panama City and around 160 km west of Tallahassee .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the 12,018 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 17,141 households, most of which were holiday homes used as second homes. The population density was 252.5 inh / km². 89.5% of the population identified themselves as whites , 2.3% as African American , 0.6% as Indians and 2.7% as Asian Americans . 1.8% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 3.1% to several ethnic groups. 5.8% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010, children under the age of 18 lived in 24.0% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 25.4% of all households. 56.6% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.22 people and the average family size was 2.76 people.
19.4% of the population were younger than 20 years, 28.5% were 20 to 39 years old, 28.9% were 40 to 59 years old, and 22.3% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 41 years. 49.9% of the population were male and 50.1% were female.
The median annual income was $ 50,047, with 10.8% of the population living below the poverty line.
In 2000, English was the first language of 96.48% of the population, 2.56% spoke Spanish and 0.96% had another mother tongue.

Panama City Beach is crossed by US Highway 98 ( SR 30A ) and Florida State Roads 30 and 79 . The Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport is approximately 30 km north of the city.
