Pretty Bayou is a census-designated place (CDP) in Bay County in the US state of Florida with 3206 inhabitants (as of 2010).

geography

Pretty Bayou borders directly on the city of Panama City and is about 160 km southwest of Tallahassee . Florida State Roads 327 , 368 , 390 and 391 cross or touch the CDP .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 3,206 inhabitants were distributed among 1,488 households. The population density was 728.6 inh / km². 91.5% of the population identified themselves as whites , 3.1% as African American , 0.4% as Indians and 1.8% as Asian Americans . 0.8% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.2% to several ethnic groups. 3.3% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 there were children under the age of 18 in 24.4% of all households and persons aged at least 65 years in 38.2% of all households. 70.3% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.36 people and the average family size was 2.77 people.

19.8% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 17.4% were 20 to 39 years old, 29.1% were 40 to 59 years old, and 33.7% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 50 years. 49.6% of the population were male and 50.4% were female.

The median annual income was $ 58,864, with 6.5% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 98.91% of the population, 0.62% spoke French and 0.47% spoke Spanish .
