Erik Thommy (born August 20, 1994 in Ulm ) is a German football player . The midfielder is under contract with VfB Stuttgart .

Career

Thommy started his career at SV Kleinbeuren , then played for SSV Ulm 1846 and TSG Thannhausen and in 2010 moved to the youth department of FC Augsburg . In 2013 he moved up to the second team that plays in the Regionalliga Bayern . On July 13, 2013, he made his debut in a 1-1 draw against SV Seligenporten . He scored his first goal on August 3, 2014 in a 4-0 win against SV Heimstetten . On September 21, 2013, he scored all three goals in the 3-1 win against FC Eintracht Bamberg . On February 16, 2014, Thommy came on for the first time for the first team in the Bundesliga in the 1-0 defeat against 1. FC Nürnberg when he came on for Tobias Werner in the 82nd minute of the game .

For the second half of the 2014/15 season Thommy was in the 2. Bundesliga for 1. FC Kaiserslautern awarded as scheduled until 30 June 2016. On 14 February 2015, it is arrived at the 1: 0 win at home against VfR Aalen to his first use when he came on for Kerem Demirbay in the 59th minute . In January 2016 his loan contract in Kaiserslautern was terminated prematurely and Thommy returned to Augsburg. On January 18, 2018, Thommy moved to Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart . After he had not played there on the first two match days of the second half of the season, Thommy advanced to become a regular and high performer in February 2018 under the new head coach Tayfun Korkut . Thommy scored his first Bundesliga goal on February 24, 2018 (24th matchday) in a 1-0 home win against Eintracht Frankfurt .

On August 19, 2018, Thommy extended his contract with VfB Stuttgart until the end of June 2022. For the 2019/20 season , Fortuna Düsseldorf signed him on loan with a subsequent purchase option. Thommy was on the field in all 34 league games during the season, but could not prevent his team's relegation and then returned to Stuttgart.
