Jens Grahl (born September 22, 1988 in Stuttgart ) is a German soccer goalkeeper who is under contract with VfB Stuttgart .

Career

Jens Grahl played in his youth for SpVgg Greuther Fürth . For the 2006/07 season he rose to the second team of Fürth. In the 2008/09 season he was the first goalkeeper, and played 29 games. In 2009 he moved to TSG Hoffenheim , but did not play a game. In 2010/11 he was used 26 times in the second team. In the following season, SC Paderborn 07 loaned him out, and he played in the DFB Cup game against Rot Weiss Ahlen from the start . SC Paderborn won the game 10-0.

For the 2012/13 season Grahl returned to Hoffenheim, but only played games in the U-23. In the 2013/14 season he went as a substitute goalkeeper behind Koen Casteels . Grahl played his first game in the first team on September 24, 2013 in a 3-0 win in the DFB Cup against Energie Cottbus . After Casteels had played weaker, he was preferred in the round of 16 of the DFB Cup in the 3-1 away win against FC Schalke 04 and in the following Bundesliga match at Eintracht Frankfurt (2-1).

Grahl moved to VfB Stuttgart for the 2016/17 season . He was not used as a substitute goalkeeper behind Mitchell Langerak , but celebrated promotion to the Bundesliga as a second division champion with VfB. There he remained number two behind the newly signed Ron-Robert Zieler . His current contract runs until 2022.
