Philipp Förster (born February 4, 1995 in Bretten ) is a German soccer player . He is currently under contract with VfB Stuttgart .

Career

Förster received his football training in the youth teams of Karlsruher SC and VfB Stuttgart . He then played from 2014 at SV Waldhof Mannheim in the Regionalliga Südwest , where he became a regular player. At the beginning of 2017, Förster moved to 1. FC Nürnberg , where he only made four appearances for their second team in the Regionalliga Bayern . For the 2017/18 season he received a three-year contract with the second division soccer club SV Sandhausen with the option of an extension. At the home game against Fortuna Düsseldorf on August 27, 2017, Förster played his first competitive game there. He scored his first goal for SV Sandhausen on matchday 23, 2017/18 against 1. FC Kaiserslautern . Sandhausen won the game 1-0. In July 2019, Förster prematurely extended his contract for two more years until 2022.

On September 2, 2019, Förster moved to Bundesliga relegated VfB Stuttgart and signed a contract dated until June 2023. On September 21, 2019, he scored his first competitive goal for VfB in a 2-0 home win against SpVgg Greuther Fürth . At the end of the 2019/20 season , he was promoted directly back to the Bundesliga with VfB Stuttgart .
