Philipp Klement (born September 9, 1992 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ) is a German soccer player .

In his youth Klement played for TuS Wachenheim and from 2004 for 1. FC Kaiserslautern , with whose A-youth he was German runner -up in 2010/11 . In the summer of 2011 he signed a three-year professional contract with 1. FC Nürnberg . In the Franks he was used in the second team, but was also once on the bench with the professionals . In January 2013 he was awarded to FC Hansa Rostock in the third division in order to gain match practice. After returning to Nuremberg, he played again for the club reserve in the Regionalliga Bayern in 2013/14 . At the same time, Klement also trained the club's U-15s.

At the beginning of August 2014, Klement was signed by 1. FSV Mainz 05 and initially played in its U-23 in the third division. On September 13, 2015, he made his Bundesliga debut when he came on as a substitute for Danny Latza in the 82nd minute of the 2-1 defeat of FSV at FC Schalke 04 on matchday four of the 2015/16 season . During the 2015/16 winter break, he received a professional contract dated June 30, 2018.

On January 23, 2018, he initially joined the third division club SC Paderborn until the end of the season . At the end of the season, his contract term was extended to 2020. He was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga with SC Paderborn in 2018 and to the Bundesliga in 2019 . In his last season he was Paderborn's top scorer with 16 league goals.

For the 2019/20 season he left SC Paderborn at his own request and moved to VfB Stuttgart, who had been relegated from the Bundesliga . His contract runs until 2023.

National team

Klement was appointed to the German U-20 national team for the first time in September 2012 . He was used there twice.
