Career
society
In his childhood, Čurlinov played for various clubs from the Macedonian capital Skopje . As a teenager he was discovered by scouts for the German third division club Hansa Rostock . This committed the talent in 2014 for their youth department, since there were initially problems with the eligibility to play, the youth trained at the Rostock suburban club LSG Elmenhorst . After a stopover at 1. FC Magdeburg , the offensive player joined the 1. FC Köln youth boarding school in 2016 . In the 2018/19 season , the winger was the top scorer in the western season of the A-Junior Bundesliga with 18 goals . He was also used once in the second team in the fourth-class Regionalliga West .
Čurlinov completed the preparation for the 2019/20 season under Achim Beierlorzer with the professional squad . In addition, he was also in the squad of the second team. The North Macedonian made his Bundesliga debut on matchday 1 when he was substituted on in the second half in the 2-1 defeat by VfL Wolfsburg .
On January 8, 2020, Čurlinov moved to VfB Stuttgart after no further Bundesliga or nine regional league appearances (six goals, two assists ) and signed a contract with the Swabians dated until the end of June 2024. At the end of his first season in Stuttgart, he achieved direct promotion back to the Bundesliga with VfB .
National team
Čurlinov was surprisingly nominated in March 2017 for the friendly game of the Macedonian senior team against Belarus (since February 2019 North Macedonia ). In the 1-0 victory in his native Skopje, he came on for Ezgjan Alioski shortly before the end . The then 16-year-old became the youngest player to ever appear for the Macedonian national team. Furthermore, Čurlinov recorded various international appearances in all age groups for the Macedonian and North Macedonian Football Association .
Style of play
The offensive player describes himself as very fast and likes one-on-one situations. Although Čurlinov is right-footed, he prefers to be on the left flank and prefers to move towards the penalty area before attempting to cross. He's also tech-savvy in his opinion.
