The national road 6 (L6) is a national road L in Lower Austria . It runs over a length of 48 kilometers from Leopoldsdorf through Marchfeld and southern Weinviertel to Paasdorf .

Course of the road

The L6 begins in Leopoldsdorf im Marchfelde at the intersection with the L5 and runs parallel to the Rußbach to Deutsch-Wagram and from there to Wolkersdorf in the Weinviertel . From here, the L6 largely follows the course of the Laaer Ostbahn through the southern Weinviertel to Paasdorf , where it ends at the intersection with Mistelbacher Straße (B40).

Since the opening of the Nord Autobahn (A5) and the Vienna outer ring expressway (S1) at the end of 2009 / beginning of 2010, there has been a ban on trucks over 3.5 tonnes between Deutsch-Wagram and Ulrichskirchen . You can bypass the route via the S1 and A5.

The L6 is an important north-south connection between the districts of Gänsernsdorf and Mistelbach . In connection with the B40 it is also an alternative route to the A5 / B7 – B46 route from Wolkersdorf to Mistelbach .
