The constituency of Waidhofen an der Thaya (constituency 18) is a constituency in Lower Austria that includes the political district of Waidhofen an der Thaya . In the state elections in 2008 , the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) emerged as the strongest party with 63.13%. None of the parties was able to book the one basic mandate to be awarded for themselves.

history

Lower Austria was divided into four constituencies until 1992, with the Waidhofen an der Thaya district belonging to the district of the district above the Manhartsberg . With the state election order of 1992, the number of constituencies was increased to 21 and the Waidhofen an der Thaya district was raised to its own constituency. Since the creation of the constituency, the ÖVP has always achieved an absolute majority, but has never been able to achieve the only basic mandate in the constituency.
