The constituency of Bruck an der Leitha (constituency 3) is a constituency in Lower Austria that includes the political district of Bruck an der Leitha . In the state elections in 2013 , the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) emerged as the strongest party with 50.15%, whereby no party achieved the basic mandate to be awarded.
history
Lower Austria was divided into four electoral districts until 1992, with the Baden district belonging to the district of the district under the Vienna Woods . With the state election order of 1992, the number of constituencies was increased to 21 and the Bruck an der Leitha district was raised to its own constituency.
Since the constituency was created, the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) achieved a relative majority in every state election in the constituency of Bruck an der Leitha, with one exception; in 2008 and 2013, the ÖVP even achieved an absolute majority. The ÖVP achieved its best result so far in the state elections in 2008 with 51.2%. In the last state parliament election in 2013, the ÖVP again achieved just under the absolute majority of 50.2%. Nevertheless, due to the low number of basic mandates in the constituency, the ÖVP never succeeded in obtaining a basic mandate in Bruck an der Leitha.
The Social Democratic Party of Lower Austria (SPÖ) took first place in the 1993 state election with 40.2%. Since then, however, the SPÖ has only been the second strongest party behind the ÖVP in every election. After almost reaching its best value of 1993 with 39.7% in 2003, the SPÖ slipped in 2008 and 2013 with losses of 9% and 7% respectively to only 23.7%. Nevertheless, the SPÖ was slightly above the Lower Austrian provincial result in 2013.
The Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) was able to take third place in three of the five elections in the constituency of Bruck an der Leitha, and in 1998 it achieved its best result with 17.8%. As a result, however, in the course of the Peter Rosenstingl affair, it fell to 4.8% and ended up in fourth place behind the Greens. After the FPÖ was able to increase again to 10.7% in 2008, it fell back to fourth place in 2013 with 8.1%.
The Greens - The Green Alternative were able to increase almost successively between 1993 and 2013 from 2.6 to 5.7%, whereby in 2003 they were able to take 3rd place for a short time due to the weakness of the FPÖ. In 2013, however, the Greens fell back to fifth place when the Stronach team (FRANK and TS) competed. The Stronach team, on the other hand, was able to achieve 10.9% right away when it ran for the first time and thus advanced to third place among the candidate parties.
