The constituency of Scheibbs (constituency 16) is a constituency in Lower Austria , which includes the political district of Scheibbs . In the state elections in 2008 , the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) emerged as the strongest party with 60.85%. Of the two basic mandates to be awarded, the ÖVP obtained one basic mandate, the other parties remained without mandates.

history

Lower Austria was divided into four constituencies until 1992, with the Scheibbs district belonging to the district electoral district above the Vienna Woods . With the state election regulations in 1992, the number of constituencies was increased to 21 and the Scheibbs district was raised to its own constituency. Since the creation of the constituency, the ÖVP has always achieved an absolute majority, whereby the ÖVP obtained a basic mandate of the two to be awarded in every state election. None of the other parties achieved a basic mandate.
