With the state election regulations in 1992, the number of constituencies was increased to 21 and the Tulln district was raised to its own constituency. Since the creation of the constituency, the ÖVP has always achieved a majority, with the party having had an absolute majority in the constituency since 2003. Of the two basic mandates to be awarded, the ÖVP achieved one basic mandate in every state election. None of the other parties achieved a basic mandate.
