Langenscheidt library of all Greek and Roman classics
from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Langenscheidt library of all Greek and Roman classics in newer German sample translations was a series of books with German translations of classical Greek and Roman literature set up for generally interested readers in which numerous well-known German-speaking scholars have contributed. It was published in the Langenscheidtschen Verlagbuchhandlung in Berlin-Schöneberg , some volumes also (at the same time) in Stuttgart by Krais & Hoffmann , from whose latest collection of selected Greek and Roman classics, translated into German by the most professional translators, the series emerged.
Your first volume, Aeschylus , was translated into German in the meter of the original by Johann Jacob Christian Donner (1799–1875).
In addition to the series, supplements were published that were not included in the volume edition.
