Heather Laurie Holden (born December 17, 1969 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American - Canadian actress .

Life and accomplishments

Laurie Holden is a daughter of Glenn Corbett (1922–1997) and Adrienne Ellis (1944–2019) and the granddaughter of the British-American actress Gloria Holden (1903–1991). Holden spent her freshman year at McGill University , where she studied economics and political science. She moved to the University of California, Los Angeles , where she completed her Bachelor of Arts in theater arts .

She had her first role in 1980 in the miniseries The Mars Chronicles , which is based on Ray Bradbury's The Mars Chronicles . Further roles did not follow until 1986, so she appeared with smaller roles in films, television films and television series . For her guest role in an episode of the crime series Ein Mountie in Chicago , Holden received a nomination for the Gemini Award 1996 in the category of Best Female Guest Role in a TV Series (Best Performance by an Actress in a Guest Role in a Dramatic Series) .

Holden achieved further notoriety with her recurring supporting role as Marita Covarrubias in the television series The X-Files - The FBI's Scary Cases . In 2008 she starred as Olivia Murray in the crime series The Shield . From 2010 to 2013, Holden was part of the regular cast of the zombie series The Walking Dead as Andrea . Holden is a US citizen and a Canadian citizen . Since 2014 she has been a member of the "Operation Underground Railroad" organization, which campaigns against child trafficking and child pornography in South America.
