Le Port is a French commune with 34,128 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the overseas department of Réunion in the Indian Ocean . Until its dissolution in 2015, it was the chief town (chief lieu) of the cantons Le Port-1 Nord and Le Port-2 Sud . The residents call themselves Portois .
