List of works destroyed in the fire of the Munich Glass Palace
In a fire on June 6, 1931 in the Munich Glass Palace , over 3,000 paintings from the "Munich Art Exhibition 1931 in the Glass Palace" were irretrievably destroyed. The exhibition had opened on June 1, 1931 and should last until the beginning of October. The organizers were the Munich Artists' Cooperative and the Association of Fine Artists Munich “Secession” eV The destroyed paintings included all 110 works in the special exhibition “ Works by German Romantics from Caspar David Friedrich to Moritz von Schwind ”.
