List of stumbling blocks in Ansbach
This list of stumbling blocks in Ansbach contains the stumbling blocks that were laid by Gunter Demnig in the Middle Franconian city of Ansbach as part of the art project of the same name . They are intended to commemorate the victims of National Socialism who lived and worked in Ansbach.
A brass plaque is anchored on the top of the concrete cuboid with an edge length of ten centimeters, which provides information about the names, year of birth and fate of the people who are to be remembered. The stones are embedded in the sidewalk in front of the former homes of the victims of the National Socialist tyranny.
The Stolpersteine project in Ansbach is made possible by extensive research by the Frankenbund into the individual fates of the Ansbach Jews. The aim of the project is to remember all around 200 victims of Nazi injustice in Ansbach. As of 2018, 67 stumbling blocks have been laid in 18 locations on four dates. Due to a car accident, the artist Gunter Demnig was unable to personally take part in the fourth laying on June 28, 2017, the stone was set by the city of Ansbach's works office. Demnig had set the stone on the previous appointments himself.
