List of stumbling blocks in Mainbernheim

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Memorial plaque for the Jewish community and synagogue Mainbernheim.

This list of stumbling blocks in Mainbernheim contains the stumbling blocks that were laid by Gunter Demnig in the Lower Franconian country town of Mainbernheim as part of the art project of the same name . They are intended to commemorate the victims of National Socialism who lived and worked in Mainbernheim.

As of 2018, a total of 12 stumbling blocks have been laid in Mainbernheim on three dates. The first five were relocated on February 12, 2008, another four followed about a year later on March 20, 2009. The last three were relocated on November 18, 2011.

A brass plaque is anchored on the top of the concrete cuboid with an edge length of ten centimeters, which provides information about the names, year of birth and fate of the people who are to be remembered. The stones are embedded in the sidewalk in front of the former homes of the victims of the National Socialist tyranny.
