List of stumbling blocks in Bad Brückenau

This list of stumbling blocks in Bad Brückenau contains the stumbling blocks that were laid by Gunter Demnig in the Lower Franconian town of Bad Brückenau as part of the art project of the same name . They are intended to commemorate the victims of National Socialism who lived and worked in Bad Brückenau.

The 10 cm × 10 cm × 10 cm large concrete blocks with brass plaques are embedded in the sidewalk in front of the houses where the victims were once at home. The inscription on the plaque gives information about their name, age and fate. The stumbling blocks are intended to counteract the oblivion of the victims of the National Socialist tyranny.

The initiative for laying the first stumbling blocks in Bad Brückenau in 2018 came from high school students at the Franz-Miltenberger-Gymnasium in Bad Brückenau, who, as part of the project seminar “Jewish Life in Bad Brückenau - Remembrance, Warning and Order”, published the 26-page brochure “Jewish Leben in Brückenau ”and their commitment convinced the city council of Bad Brückenau to agree to the relocation. Almost ten years earlier this had been rejected.
