List of stumbling blocks in Untergriesbach

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This list of stumbling blocks in Untergriesbach contains the stumbling blocks that were laid as part of the art project of the same name by Gunter Demnig in the Lower Bavarian market Untergriesbach . They are intended to commemorate the victims of National Socialism who lived and worked in Untergriesbach.

The 10 cm × 10 cm × 10 cm large concrete blocks with brass plaques are embedded in the sidewalk in front of the houses where the victims were once at home. The inscription on the plaque gives information about their name, age and fate. The stumbling blocks are intended to counteract the oblivion of the victims of the National Socialist tyranny.

The idea of the Stolpersteine was brought to her home town by a student from Untergriesbach at the Gisela High School in Passau Niedernburg . In addition to their school, the local schools, grammar school Untergriesbach and middle school "Am Hohen Markt", as well as residents of Untergriesbach, took on sponsorships for the Stolpersteine .
