Michalková (Hungarian Zólyommihályi - 1888–1907 Mihályi and until 1888 Mihalkova ) is a municipality in central Slovakia with 31 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) and belongs to the Okres Zvolen , a district of the Banskobystrický kraj .
geography
The municipality is located on the southwestern edge of the Javorie Mountains in the valley of the Burzovo stream , with part in the Neresnica valley . The center of the village is at an altitude of 660 m nm and is 12 kilometers from Zvolen .
Neighboring communities are Zvolen (districts Môťová and Kráľová ) in the north and east, Dobrá Niva in the south and Podzámčok in the west.
history
Michalková was built around a farm and was first mentioned in writing in 1786 as Mihalykova . Until 1790 the village was a small settlement in the domain of the Dobrá Niva Castle . In 1828 there were 17 houses and 130 inhabitants who were employed as manufacturers of wooden tableware and farmers.
Until 1918 the place in Sohl County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or today Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, 40 people lived in Michalková, 33 of whom were Slovaks and one Magyar and one Czech . One resident indicated a different ethnic group and four residents gave no information about the ethnic group .
23 residents supported the Roman Catholic Church, three residents the Evangelical Methodist Church and one resident of the Evangelical Church AB. Nine residents were non-denominational and four residents had no denomination.
