Lieskovec (Hungarian Újmogyoród - until 1912 Mogyoród , until 1888 Lieszkóc ) is a municipality in central Slovakia with 1,452 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) and belongs to the Okres Zvolen , a district of the Banskobystrický kraj .
geography
The municipality is located in the central part of the Zvolenská kotlina basin on the Hučava stream , five kilometers east of the center of Zvolen .
history
Lieskovec was first mentioned in writing in 1401 as Leskouecz .
1976–1990 Lieskovec was a district of Zvolen.
