Dubové (up to 1927 Slovak "Dubovô"; Hungarian Dobó - up to 1888 Dubovo ) is a municipality in central Slovakia with 298 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) and belongs to the Okres Zvolen , a district of the Banskobystrický kraj .
geography
The village is located in the Pliešovská kotlina basin on the eastern slope of the Schemnitz Mountains . The center of the village is at an altitude of 430 m nm and is 14 kilometers away from Zvolen .
Neighboring communities are Bacúrov in the north, Breziny in the east, Dobrá Niva in the south, Banský Studenec in the southwest and Banská Belá and Kozelník in the west.
history
Dubové was first mentioned in writing in 1255 as terra Duboudyl , when it came into the possession of Pertold, stonemason of the old Sohl Castle in an act of donation from Béla IV . In 1424 the village belonged to the domain of Dobrá Niva Castle , later it was owned by the landed nobility. The residents worked, among other things, in the local Meierhof and supplied charcoal for the huts in the vicinity of Schemnitz . In 1828 there were 42 houses and 327 inhabitants who were employed as farmers and, in the 18th and 19th centuries, especially as beekeepers.
Until 1918 the place in Sohl County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or today Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, 258 inhabitants lived in Dubové, of whom 237 were Slovaks and one each was Roman and Czech . 19 residents did not provide any information on ethnicity .
117 residents committed to the Evangelical Church AB, 96 residents to the Roman Catholic Church, three residents to the Greek Catholic Church and one resident to the New Apostolic Church. 19 residents had no denomination and the denomination was not determined for 22 residents.
