Veľká Lúka (German Großwiesen , Hungarian Nagyrét ) is a municipality in central Slovakia in the Zvolen district .
geography
The village Veľká Lúka is located in the western part of the Altsohler valley basin ( Zvolenská kotlina ), in the area of the health resort Sliač , 14 km from Banská Bystrica (German Neusohl) and 7 km from the district town Zvolen (German Altsohl), at the Sliač airport . The 389 inhabitants (2004) live in 136 houses. The total area covers 854 hectares at an altitude of 308 to 470 m. The Lukavica brook flows through the village and later flows into the Hron .
history
The first written mention as Nogreth comes from 1281 . From 1988 to 1995 Veľká Lúka was incorporated into Sliač.

The Veľká Lúka stop is on the Zvolen – Červená Skala railway line .
