List of stumbling blocks in Hof (Saale)
This list of stumbling blocks in Hof contains the stumbling blocks that were laid by Gunter Demnig in the Upper Franconian town of Hof as part of the art project of the same name . They are intended to commemorate the victims of National Socialism who lived and worked in Hof.
A brass plaque is anchored on the top of the concrete cuboid with an edge length of ten centimeters, which provides information about the names, year of birth and fate of the people who are to be remembered. The stones are embedded in the sidewalk in front of the former homes of the victims of the National Socialist tyranny.
The relocation of the first stumbling block in Hof was largely initiated by the “School without Racism - School with Courage” working group at the Jean-Paul-Gymnasium . The campaign was financed by the city of Hof and a contribution from the Hof SPD parliamentary group. Shortly after it was laid, the small memorial was smeared and doused with paint.
