List of stumbling blocks in Veitshöchheim

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This list of stumbling blocks in Veitshöchheim contains the stumbling blocks that were laid by Gunter Demnig in the Lower Franconian community of Veitshöchheim as part of the art project of the same name . They are intended to commemorate the victims of National Socialism who lived and worked in Veitshöchheim. In addition to 13 Jewish citizens, there were also Max Mährlein , who was executed for undermining military strength , and Leopold Kaufmann, who was murdered in Dachau in 1945.

A brass plaque is anchored on the top of the concrete cuboid with an edge length of ten centimeters, which gives information about the names, year of birth and fate of the people who are to be remembered. The stones are embedded in the sidewalk in front of the former homes of the victims of the National Socialist tyranny. The previous 15 stumbling blocks were laid on September 29, 2009. The decision to do so had been taken by the local council two years earlier at the request of the Green Local Association. The financing was exclusively through sponsorships at 95 euros per stumbling block.

The table shows the order in which the stumbling blocks were laid.
