List of tunnels in Munich

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The list of Munich tunnels includes planned, under construction, used and already decommissioned tunnels in Munich .

background

Most of the tunnels are located on two of Munich's most important traffic axes : the Middle Ring and the main railway axis running in an east-west direction. While the tunnels on the first are mainly used for noise protection and to improve the flow of traffic, the second allow the north-south connection across the track. In addition, the currently longest tunnel in Munich - the S-Bahn main line - is also part of this railway axis.
