List of the intangible cultural heritage in urgent need of conservation
The list of urgent conservation need of the Intangible Cultural Heritage ( List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding , English ) is an international three lists that the UNESCO as part of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage created in 2008. Intangible cultural assets that are particularly endangered are added to the list. For example, the survival of a cultural heritage can be jeopardized because there are only a small number of sponsors.
The Intergovernmental Committee on the Conservation of the Intangible Cultural Heritage decides at its annual meeting on the inclusion of cultural expressions on the list of intangible cultural heritage in urgent need of conservation. The prerequisite for the inclusion of an element is that the affected community or group has already made efforts to preserve and protect the cultural heritage. The measures to protect and preserve the elements on the list of intangible cultural heritage in urgent need of conservation are financially supported by an international UNESCO fund. The fund is financed by mandatory contributions from UNESCO member states, the United Nations Development Program and donations. The Intergovernmental Committee for the Conservation of Intangible Cultural Heritage decides on the allocation of funds.
