Phu Thọ is a province of Vietnam . It is located in the northeast of the country in the northeast region . The capital is Việt Trì, which is 80 kilometers from Hanoi . The province extends over an area of 3,519.6 km² with around 1,381,700 inhabitants.
Three major rivers run through the province. The Red River , the Clear River (Lô) and the Black River (Đà) .
