The Long Iceland MacArthur Airport (also known as Islip Airport ) ( IATA : ISP , ICAO : KISP ) is a commercial airport east of the American metropolis New York in the Town of Islip . He is named after General Douglas MacArthur .
Location and transport links
Long Island MacArthur Airport is located on Long Island , eleven kilometers northeast of downtown Islip and 77 kilometers east of New York City. It is located on New York State Route 454 , which runs south of the airport. Interstate 495 also runs around one kilometer north of the airport.
Long Island MacArthur Airport is not directly involved in local public transport . However, taxis connect it to Ronkonkoma Station on Long Island Rail Road , north of the airport .
Airlines and Destinations
American Eagle connects the airport with the hub in Philadelphia , these flights are mainly operated by Piedmont Airlines . Frontier Airlines serves Atlanta , Fort Myers , Miami , Myrtle Beach and Raleigh / Durham , Southwest Airlines serves Baltimore . Frontier Airlines and Southwest Airlines also fly to Fort Lauderdale , Orlando , Palm Beach and Tampa, respectively . Between 2017 and 2018, Frontier Airlines significantly expanded its offer, but some connections were discontinued.
