Lothar Klimek
Lothar Klimek (wrongly also Klimeck , born October 20, 1921 in Königsberg (Prussia) ; † August 20, 2013 in Worpswede ) was a German photo artist, non-fiction author and university lecturer .

Youth and education
Lothar Klimek began as a trainee in the regional planning department of East Prussia , worked there as a cartographer and graphic designer and began studying at the art and trade school with Professor Ernst Grün in Königsberg. After the end of the war he lived in the American occupation zone , began professional photography training with Friedrich Hermann Ernst Schneidler and Eugen Funk at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart in 1948 and then worked as a freelance graphic and photo designer. In 1955 the Welt-Bildatlas was published in Laupheim with the help of the geographer Oswald Muris . A set of maps to understand current events .
In 1958 he was appointed to the State Art School in Bremen , where he taught for almost 30 years. In 1974 he received the professorship for photography, photo design and drafting at what was then the University of Art and Music (HKM). He played a decisive role in the further development of the HKM to today's University of the Arts Bremen (HfK). In 1986 he retired and lived in Worpswede.
Artistic work
Since the beginning of the 1960s he worked as a photographer for Deutsche Kunstverlag (among others in the book series Deutsche Lande Deutsche Kunst ), illustrated books, photo books, book series, promotional items and came out with his own publications . For many years he was a member of the professional association of free photographers and film designers. V. ,.
