Lott Trophy
The Lott Trophy , also known as the Lott IMPACT Trophy , is awarded annually to the best defensive American football player in college football of the year.
The award is intended to recognize both the personal character of the winner and his athletic excellence. IMPACT is an abbreviation for: Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community, and Tenacity d. H. for integrity, maturity, achievement, academics, fellowship and tenacity.
National media members, past finalists, and the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation Board of Directors will vote on the selection of prizes. The award was presented in honor of Ronnie Lott , a defense attorney who played both the College Football Hall of Fame for the University of Southern California and the Pro Football Hall of Fame and was a ten-time pro bowler .
