Louisa Gross Horwitz Prize
The Louisa Gross Horwitz Prize for biology or biochemistry ( Louisa Gross Horwitz Prize for Biology or Biochemistry ) is an American Science Award, which annually by Columbia University for outstanding achievements in the field of biology or biochemistry will be given.
The prize was established by a foundation by S. Gross Horwitz and is named in honor of his mother. The prize was first awarded in 1967.
The Louisa Gross Horwitz Prize is one of the most prestigious science prizes in America. Of the 106 winners (as of September 2019) 51 later received a Nobel Prize, 40 the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine , and 11 the Nobel Prize in Chemistry . Pierre Chambon received two awards, in 1999 and 2018.
