Geographical location

The village is located about 13 kilometers northwest of Dobre Miasto (Guttstadt) , 24 kilometers west of Lidzbark Warmiński (Heilsberg) and 36 kilometers northwest of Olsztyn (Allenstein) .

history

Arnold , the brother of Bishop Eberhard von Neiße , received the village festivals according to Kulmer law on August 12, 1308. The village, which was named Arnoldsdorf or Arnsdorf after its founder , received 120 hooves , including ten hooves for the Schulzen Arnold plus another ten free hooves. After Arnold's death, his sons Dietrich and Heinrich each inherited half. The parish church of St. Katharina was built between 1340 and 1370 . The last two floors of the church tower were not completed until 1480. The area due to the Schulzen shrank until 1527, when the two village Schulzen together only had 3.5 hooves. On May 28, 1527, Mauritius Ferber renewed the hand festivals and increased the number of Schulzenhufen by four. Furthermore, the area belonging to the village was increased to 149 Hufe, or 2540 hectares , so that Arnsdorf was the largest village in Warmia . In 1807 the nave burned down and was restored, substantially changed. In 1922 the church was extensively renovated.

In 1945 Arnsdorf belonged to the district Heilsberg in Administrative district Königsberg the province of East Prussia of the German Reich . Towards the end of the Second World War , the region was occupied by the Red Army in early 1945 . As a result, the place came to the People's Republic of Poland . As far as the people had not fled, they were in the period that followed sold .

The parish church of St. Catherine from the 14th century has a high altar and side altars, which were made between 1726 and 1730. They were originally installed in the Jesuit church in Braunsberg, which was demolished in 1809 . In 1816 the pulpit was made by the Biereichel workshop , which presumably also added and changed the altars. Consisting of granite made Stoup dates from the 14th century.

The Rochus Chapel was built in 1617 by the merchant Johann Meier (or Maier ) from Braunsberg. He had worked as a servant in Arnsdorf and wanted to thank God for his fate. The chapel, which was burned out at the end of the Second World War, was rebuilt by 1958. It is located on the road to Dobre Miasto ( Guttstadt ).
