Lutz Pistor

Lutz Pistor (also Ludwig ) (born August 29, 1898 in Munich ; † December 27, 1952 in Munich) was a German civil engineer and university professor.

Life

After military service and studies, Pistor worked as an assistant at the Technical University of Munich . After receiving his doctorate in 1925, he worked as a civil engineer and chief designer in the construction industry. In 1933 he joined the NSDAP. In 1935 he became a full professor for solid construction (concrete, reinforced concrete, stone, wood) at the TH Munich. At the same time he was director of the official material testing center from 1936.

From 1938 to 1945 Pistor was rector of the TH Munich. During this time he promoted "war-important research projects" and also served the university with Nazi figures who had taught or studied here, such as Reich Minister and Governor General Hans Frank , who was assistant at the Institute of Law at the Technical University from 1927 to 1929.

From 1940 to 1945 he was a full member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences . He was also an official of the Alpine Club in the German Mountaineering Association and in the leadership of the Mountaineering Office under Paul Bauer .

After Pistor was dismissed for political reasons in 1945, he switched to the cement industry and in 1948 became head of the technical department at Portland Zement-Werke Heidelberg AG
