Heinrich Netz

(Josef) Heinrich Netz (born December 28, 1896 in Oberhausen ; † March 17, 1983 in Munich ) was a German mechanical engineer and rector of the Technical University of Munich .

Life

After participating in the First World War, Netz studied mechanical engineering at the technical universities in Hanover and Munich and received his doctorate in 1925 at RWTH Aachen University . He then worked as a production engineer in a steel mill. This was followed by the activity as a lecturer at the higher mechanical engineering school in Aachen. In 1936 he accepted a position at the Technical University of Munich as a professor for heating and mechanical engineering at the Faculty of Brewing in Weihenstephan . After the Second World War he taught at the Oskar von Miller Polytechnic in Munich. From 1955 on he was full professor and later provisional director of the institute and laboratory for heat engines at the Technical University of Munich. From 1964 to 1965 he was also the rector of the university. 1965 retired network.

The numerous specialist books published by Heinrich Netz include “Dampfkessel” (1934), “Wärmewirtschaft” (1935), “Formulas der Technik” (1960), “Formuleln der Mathematik” (1965) and “Combustion and Gas Production with Solid Fuels” (1982 ).

Netz had been a member of the Catholic student union AV Frisia Hannover since 1919.
