Manuel Amador Guerrero

Manuel Amador Guerrero (born June 30, 1833 in Turbaco , Departamento de Bolívar , Republic of New Granada , † May 2, 1909 in Panama City , Panama ) was the first President of Panama.

Guerrero was a member of the Conservative Party, a medical officer in the Panamanian army and in 1903 the leader of the liberation revolution against Colombia. From November 4, 1903 to October 1, 1908 he was President of the new Republic of Panama. His successor as President was José Domingo de Obaldía .

The Orden de Manuel Amador Guerrero , the highest distinction to be awarded by Panama, was named after him.
