Eric Arturo Delvalle

Eric Arturo Delvalle (born February 2, 1937 in Panama City ; † October 2, 2015 ) was the 40th President of Panama from 1985 to 1988 .

Delvalle studied first in Panama and then at Louisiana State University . After his return he became president of the national sugar industry and managing director and president of various private companies. During his political career he became a member of the National Assembly. In 1984 he became President of the Liberal Party and Vice President of the country. On September 28, 1985, he succeeded Nicolás Ardito Barletta Vallarino as President of the Republic until February 26, 1988. His successor was Manuel Solís Palma .
